• We will not be able to treat you if you have received any of the following in the last 6 months, any sun tanning injections or spray, vitamin A injections, accurate of any sort, chemotherapy or cancer medications, blood thinners. Please ensure you have no artificial tan such as spray or fake tan on the area being treated.
• We will not be able to treat you if you are sunburnt or have had large amounts of sun exposure.
• We may require a Doctor’s clearance if you are pregnant, breast-feeding, prone to keloid scarring or are on any possible photosensitive medication including strong medications.
• You may use numbing cream on the treatment area for your comfort, please ensure you apply this prior to your appointment as per the brands instructions, numbing cream is sold in the studio your technician can assist in applying numbing cream please contact the studio prior to your appointment to arrange.
• Ensure you have eaten prior to your appointment and practice appropriate hygiene.

Once you have finished your laser tattoo removal session, we will dress your tattoo with a non-stick dressing pad and healing cream.

• Using clean hands remove the dressing pad and gently wash the treatment area under warm water with soap using small circular motions making sure you cover all of the tattoo and surrounding areas, we recommend using Dr Pickles foam wash, please note some body washes with fragrances can irritate the skin and dry out the area! You may notice that the tattoo has redness, swelling or even bruising around or on the tattoo. Don’t panic! This is completely normal and usually subsides after a few days to 1 week post treatment.
• Using clean hands you can now apply a THIN layer of aftercare, we recommend using Dr Pickles balm. Apply by placing balm onto clean fingers going in small gentle circular motions which will stimulate the skin’s blood flow and encourage the healing process.

The treatment area will take approximately 4 weeks to heal, during this time you will need to make sure you are always keeping the area clean and giving it a gentle wash and applying the aftercare balm 1-2 times per day over the next 1-2 weeks. You do not want your tattoo to get too dry therefore you will need to apply as you feel necessary. During this time you may experience itching on or around your tattoo as your skin starts to heal and regenerate new skin cells.

• As the ink is being flushed through your lymphatic system we recommend drinking lots of water and keeping the area elevated where possible to help the blood flow.
• Do not swim, soak, submerge, have a spa or sauna/ice baths for 2- 4 weeks after your treatment.
• Do not apply fake tan over the treatment area or expose the area to the sun whilst the tattoo is healing, ensure you wear 50+ sunscreen on the area if you are outdoors.
• You can exercise 24-48 hours after your laser appointment as long as you don’t have severe swelling or discomfort, we actually encourage exercise as this can speed up your laser breakdown process!
• Over the next few days your tattoo will begin to change as the ink starts to break down, you may experience blisters and this is completely normal and we ask that you please DO NOT POP THEM!
• If Blistering occurs on the area of treatment, we recommend using less cream on the area to avoid any infection, if you are receiving significant swelling, there are over the counter medications that can be taken, speak to your technician for further advice.

Your tattoo will look different each time you have a session, this is because the ink is breaking down and reacts differently each session. Remember sessions are booked minimum 6 weeks apart to give your skin/body time to heal and break down the ink before we do another laser session. The tattoo will continue to fade up to 2 years after your treatment.
